Buell Neidlinger

Buell Neidlinger (fødd 2. mars 1936) er ein amerikansk cellist og kontrabassist.

Neidlinger vart fødd i Westport i Connecticut. Etter Yale University flytta han til New York City og byrja å spele i forskjellige jazzband. Han vart med i gruppa til Cecil Taylor i 1955, spelte med Herbie Nichols og spelte mykje med gruppene til Taylor i lag med mellom andre Steve Lacy og Archie Shepp fram til 1961.^[1] Han var òg involvert i nye retningar innan klassisk musikk i lag med John Cage, Mauricio Kagel, George Crumb og Gunther Schuller sin Third Stream-musikk.

Han har arbeidd mykje som orkester- og studiobassist før han vart musikklærar ved New England Conservatory og CalArts. I lag med Marty Krystall starta han K2B2 Records.

I 1983 spelte han på Antilles Records-plata Swingrass '83.^[2]
