Guy Pratt

Guy Pratt (fødd 3. januar 1962) er ein engelsk studiomusikar og bassist, låtskrivar, skodespelar og komikar. Han er son til skodespelar Mike Pratt. I 1996 gifte ha seg med Gala Wright, dotter til Pink Floyd-medlem Richard Wright.

Karriere

Pratt er mest kjend for arbeidet sitt som studiomusikar. Han har arbeidd med Pink Floyd, Echo & the Bunnymen, Kirsty MacColl, The Smiths, Tears for Fears, Lemon Jelly, The Orb, All Saints, Icehouse, Madonna, Stephen Duffy, Robbie Robertson, Roxy Music, Michael Jackson, Gary Moore, Robert Palmer, Billy Pilgrim, A. R. Rahman, Womack & Womack, Coverdale Page og Toy Matinee. Han er medlem av The Transit Kings med Alex Paterson (frå The Orb), Jimmy Cauty (frå The KLF) og Dominic Beken. Cauty og Pratt gav òg ut «I Wanna 1-2-1 With You» som Solid Gold Chartbusters. Sidan 2006 har Guy Pratt spelt bass for Bryan Ferry.

Pratt vart vald ut som bassist for den seinare utgåva av Pink Floyd for verdsturneane Delicate Sound of Thunder og P*U*L*S*E i 1987 og 1994. Han spelte òg på fleire av songane på The Division Bell, sjølv om det meste av bassen vart spelt av Gilmour. Tony Levin spelte bass på det meste av Momentary Lapse of Reason, medan Pratt erstatta han på den påfølgjande turneen då Levin var oppteken.^[1]

Han turnerte òg med Pink Floyd-gitarist David Gilmour på On an Island i lag med svigerfaren Richard Wright.

Som låtskrivar var han med å skreiv den britiske førsteplassen «Ain't No Doubt», sungen av Jimmy Nail.

I august 2005 debuterte han med det komiske einmannsshowet My Bass & Other Animals.
