  2. The Greek Embassy to the Holy See is located outside Vatican territory, in Rome.
  3. Greece does not recognize Kosovo's declaration of independence, and therefore does not maintain formal diplomatic relations with it. Nonetheless, it maintains a liaison office in Pristina, which functions as a de facto embassy, and is headed by a diplomat of ambassadorial rank.
  4. The consulate general closed down prior to the renaming of the Republic of Zaire into the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1997.
