«Sometimes I'm Happy» er ein popsong med musikk av Vincent Youmans og tekst av Irving Caesar. Songen vart opphavleg publisert i 1923 under tittelen «Come On And Pet Me,»[1] med tekst av Oscar Hammerstein II og William Cary Duncan.[2] Han var meint for Broadway-musikalen Mary Jane McKane, men vart teken bort før showet hadde premiere.[3] Musikken vart sidan nytta, med ny tekst og titteln, i den kortvarige musikalen A Night Out i 1925, og i musikalen Hit the Deck, med Stanley Holloway i hovudrolla og premiere i april 1927.

Songen vart framført i Hit the Deck av Charles King og Louise Groody, som òg spelte inn songen for Victor Records.[4] Den bestseljande versjonen var av King og Groody og av Roger Wolfe Kahn (med vokal av Franklyn Baur), òg på Victor.[4] To andre versjonar, ein duett av Baur og Gladys Rice på Columbia Records og vokal av Vaughn De Leath på Brunswick Records var òg ganske populære.[4]

Det vart gjort mange andre innspelingar i 1927 og melodien vart ein standard, spelt inn av mange artistar sidan den gongen. Han kom ut som B-sida til 1935-innspelinga av «King Porter Stomp» av Benny Goodman and his orchestra.
